What is the Atomix Nucleus Pod?

Great question —the Nucleus Pod is a modular warehouse structure that optimizes the customer experience by increasing efficiency and maximizing operational throughput.

That means, the warehouse is divided into specific locations for single or groups of brands (e.g. 500 square feet out of 15,000), and a Pod manager is specifically responsible for those brands enabling more control and high-touch customer support. Think about a mini-warehouse with your own highly trained warehouse manager.

Within the Pods, our system allocates inventory and manages fluctuating demand based on SKU data and historical order volume velocity (e.g. highest moving SKUs closer to pack station.)

Simply put, the Nucleus Pod is the core function of Atomix that is highly flexible and configurable.

Now that we understand why it’s called the Nucleus Pod, let’s see what it actually does.

And we totally agree, it might not seem like a significant difference at first, but the importance is rooted in the detail —this is derived from our experience whereby no fulfillment partner ever cared enough or had the capability to give us an “in-house”-like experience. Here are the two most important parts:

  1. Inventory Allocation: Our system determines the proximity of your product in addition to the least amount of storage space necessary. As a result, instead of assuming monthly bills, you will clearly view the placement and space allocation on a weekly basis.
  2. Communication: Now, this is by far the most impactful piece to our merchants. Our goal is to create an experience as close to in-house fulfillment as possible. Our Nucleus Pod Managers are not your typical minimum pay warehouse worker, they are operational specialists, and are “wear multiple hats”-type of entrepreneurs. The reason is strategic — first, with higher skilled employees, we can provide a better merchant experience; second, by leveraging technology and their customer service skills, they are able to significantly increase productivity.
